I am an artist-educator living in Vancouver. I am interested in challenging hegemonic systems and imperialist ideas ‘quietly’ embedded in everyday things–from academic textbooks to kitchy souvenir spoons.
My critical art making and writing practice explore the cultural production and consumption of knowledge–and exploits the myths, tropes and master narratives that circulate across the cultural imagination.
My art projects, community workshops and speaking engagements encourage participants to question ‘common knowledge’ thru a collaborative exploration of Identity, Otherness, Privilege and Belonging.
I teach writing and design communication in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University.
