Dark Lake Tarot

DarkLake Tarot operates virtually on the traditional, stolen lands of the Coast Salish people of Turtle Island – specifically the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Watuth- who fight consistently for their rightful recognition, and for the safety and respectful stewardship of this land improperly colonized and renamed to ‘Vancouver, Canada’.

While I am a product of similarly colonized lands and people- a descendant of African slaves brought to The Bahamas- I recognize that my privileges in choosing to live in this city makes me complicit in this land’s colonialist actions, and thus my duty is to ensure my work through DarkLake Tarot continue to prioritize and aid the First Nations communities of this land through self-decolonization, advocacy, and service.
